Model 70 Featherweight .223 Rem Question

I have found a guy that has a model 70 featherweight in .223 Rem for sell. I can't seem to find much information about it. The owner said he bought it new around 1986 and shot about 1 box of ammo through it and has been sitting in his gun safe. Can anyone tell me any information about the rifle?

hello. according to blue book of values, that gun was made from 1981 to 1994. they are 5 shot and weigh 6-1/2 lbs. they are a 22 inch barrel. value is listed at 380.00 for a 98% condition rifle.

Thank you very much. A local friend of mine thought the featherweights were only made a couple of years in .223 and therefore would have had some value. Sounds like it isn't worth much. Again, thank you for the quick information.

A 98% gun would bring more than $380.00 on the suctions.

I would buy a dozen at 380.00! Find out for sure if the mod 70 is featherweight or lightweight. The gun will bring +500.00 here on G Broker. I had a lightweight mod 70 in .223 rem that did better than $700.00 [:)] very best

The rifle is Winchester Model 70 fwt, .223 Rem, SN G16590XX, bright blue, no marks or scratches looks new - but no box.
