trying to decide glock or xd

im trying to decide which one is a better gun to concealed carry, the glock or springfield xd. i realy like both of them. xd seems like a little safer to carry because of the extra hand guard safety. but the glock is real nice and more popular. which one has a better manufacturing warranty or better tech support?

Glock is real good with service. Dont know about Springfield because, I have never had any problems with it. I would take my XD over my Glock any day[:D]

You should handle both and let your grip/feel decide for you. I was also confused on which to get, untill i handled them.......that made the choice for me.

I prefer Glock.......I think it has the edge in durability and reliability. However the XD would also serve you well. Buy what feels, fits, and points the best for you.

    i have both
glock has a wide variety of accessories if you like big magazines 31 or 33 rounders easy to clean.
springfield xd great.the first time i cleaned it i left a piece of lint on the rail jammed every shot until micro dot lint was removed.
did the same thing to my glock(the lint thing)no problems.
so if you decide on the xd visually check for micro dot lint leave no obstruction your life depends on it

I don't care to much for Glocks but that is more of a fit and feel issue than quality. I prefer the XD over the Glock because of the wrist position I have to use with the Glock. With the XD I can hold my wrist as if I were throwing a straight on, square punch. With the Glock I have to "tip" the top of my hand forward some which causes me discomfort from compressed muscles and tendons in my lower wrist.

As far as which is better? Hahaha! That is like an old Ford vs. Chevy
debate! All I can say is try'em both out if possible. See which feels the most comfortable to you.

Other than that, you can't really go wrong either way!

    Good Luck and Good Shooting!!

I like the Glock 30 and not much recoil, the 9 and 40 seems to have more recoil. Shot the Glock 36 tonight and didn't care for it.

Both are very fine weapons. Springfield, however, has a VERY poor record of continued availability of anything for any of their "captive" imports like the HS2000 (oops, I mean XD). When sales start to slow down you can expect Springfield to turn their back on you as they discontinue the model and look for the next "captive" import.

XD all the way! I have seen too many KB's on the Glocks (15, give or take in the last 10 or so years).
