    39chevy,

My best guess is you are looking for "alice gear" suspenders.

google 'alice suspenders' & see if the type "H" or type "Y" suits your needs.

A L I C E, an acronym for the military "All-purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment"

There were no issued suspenders for the 1943 Springfield/Garand cartridge belts. I believe you're thinking of the BAR belt. Alice gear came way later.

True on ALICE suspenders, but in the '60's in Camp Lejeune, I can remember as part of my 7-8-2 gear (WWII issue) being issued double-strap suspenders that were meant for our web belts. All the riflemen were issued them. It was not weapons specific. The BAR belt is (was?) different..but was supported by the same non-specific suspenders as issued to all USMC grunts. Best, Joe
