I have been away from buying and selling guns and any new rules so here is my question Can I ship a handgun to a dealer in another state with his signed lic.? so said handgun can be sold to other person who would pick said gun up from said dealer. or does handguns have to go dealer to dealer? and one more question do I have to ship either next day, or two day,or sense I am not a dealer anymore can it be shipped ground? Thank You For all reply BiggerHammer

From what I gather reading the ATF web site a nonlicensee may ship a handgun to a holder of a FFL license in any state. Am
    I reading this right?

I purchased a handgun on GB. The guy recieved the payment + FFL. Is it required that he ship it over night? Or is it ok for it to be shipped standard ground? Just curious being that this is my first online purchase of a firearm.
quote:I know what you're thinking: "Did he fire six shots, or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But, being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya punk?

one exception to what henry said- if you are shipping a HANDGUN to New York State, it must be shipped BY a dealer TO A dealer. NY state law does not permit a NY dealer to RECIEVE a shipped firearm from anyone other than a dealer. Which is a real problem if you are selling handgun RECEIVERS to companies like Numrich- in West Hurley NY. Numrich mentions this on their website.

    BiggerHammer24,

Look at Section 'B' - Unlicensed Persons for all the constraints. It's easy and straight forward:

    http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/faq2.htm

    Best.

    non mortuus,

"You can't ship a 'gun' directly to someone unless that someone is an ffl, or curio license holder if gun is curio eligable."

    This is untrue.

I can ship a firearm to a another resident in my home state, within the state.

I can ship a firearm(s) to myself in another state without going through a dealer if it's addressed to me personally so long as no one opens the package except me.

All other rules apply to shipping a firearm to another unlicensed person out-of-state.

    Best.
