Just picked up a nice Model 69- Target Model- looks like a Lyman No. 5 adjustable rear peep- sweep dial for windage- numbered elevation set screw- front sight and ramp much like M54 and M70- even has a patent date no. on left side- funny thing- the 5 rd. magazine is "stepped" so you can only get one rd. in-was that std. for the early Target models-?? P.S. Look in the parts section and you'll see a sub-heading for bolts.Search there.
Good luck,
OD
There were 4 Lyman receiver sights offered as options on the 69/69A.
Lyman No. 55W, 57EF, 57EW (round receiver), and 60EWH (round receiver).
The standard front sight was a Winchester No. 97A ramp sight.

Hello Gunny: You lost me on the Lyman No. 5 adjustable rear peep sight. Do you mean a Lyman 55 or 57 instead of 5? I know the standard rear sight on many of the Model 69 Target rifles came with the Winchester 97A Front Ramp Sight and the 96B Rear Sight. Is the rear sight located on the top of the receiver, or the side of the receiver?
A single shot mag is more like a solid block and won't hold anything but one cartridge. They are also pricey.
The model 56 and 57 were also produced in .22 short only and an original short magazine for them is nearly an impossiblity to find.
