22LR AR15

Has anyone fired one of these conversions? With the price of ammo, 22LR is about all I can afford. I thought they might be nice just to take to the range and blast away.

What kind of conversion are you talking about?

    The drop in bolts?
The cheeper older style uppers with only 10rd mags?
The new style dedicated .22 uppers?

Each have their good points and bad. I am pretty sure I am going with a Spikes Tactical when I do mine here soon. Looked at a few options and seems like one of the best a I can not build it for much cheeper and they come tested and ready to fire.

I have a CZ upper works most of the time, you just have to take a break from shooting once in a while and clean the smuttz off the bolt and breech face,a tooth brush works fine.

Yeah, I should have been more specific. I'm talking about a complete dedicated 22LR upper.

Model 1 Sales makes a nice one that uses the Ciener/Atchisson pattern mags. Black Dog machine makes nice hi cap mags for that as well.

    JAC Ceinier sucks.
    Bushmaster upper looks good
22 ammo is so damm dirty on full auto

I have the JAC M16 & AC556 kits. It will run 250-500 on full 20rd mags.
Gets so sticky you think your going to break the pins, bolt almost welded to chamber etc., after 4 bricks of 22.

    Lots of fun[:D]
Got differant springs can run 400 to over 1400rpm, with swap of spring.

I soak whole unit in solvent for a couple hours, while I shoot something else.

    Clean & go again [:p]

    Walte

YOU GUYS ARE COSTING ME MONEY!

Just bought a 20" heavy barrel from Model 1. They offered $5 off on Black Dog mags also.

    Thanks for all the replies.
