i had a question on my auction and maybe some of you guys can help me out on this. thanks item 123552688

    It looks like an H & R 199. It's not listed as a C & R, but of course if it's +50 it's OK. Blue book doesn't carry any info on manufacture dates for the 199, perhaps someone else can find manufacture dates for the 199.

    i appreciate it dfletcher but i think the 199 s were single action this is a double action i looked in my bluebook and it says with the serial range of this one it was made before 1940 after that they had i guess a letter before the serial this is numbers only i appreciate the help.

    Sorry about that - you're right. I read right through that part and missed the "Ultra Sportsman" listed below, these were made up to 1942. Anyway, if the H & R was made in 1940 it is C & R eligible as being 50 years old.
