Detonics serial numbers?

Have a Detonics Assoc. Seattle .45 ser. no. D 78xx, satin finish w/black grips: Would like to know model, how many produced, the usual.... Thanks, Aggie2

    If they don't know, they can find out. There's also a site called "The Bigger Hammer" that has some manufacturing info listed.

    Can't tell from your post if satin finish means stainless or blued. Any stampings such as Mk I or Mk VI?

    Thanks for the leads - I'll go exploring.
    Satin stainless with large, shallow lettering DETONICS .45 on left side of slide & small DETONICS ASSOCS. SEATTLE, WA. D 78xx on 3 lines on frame above trigger, black Pachmayr grips, notched hammer, sights, approx. 3 3/8"bbl.
