Foregrips on pistols

Question for someone in the know: BATF states that a pistol is a weapon designed to be fired with one hand, so adding a foregrip modifies this and makes it illegal unless paperwork is filled out. But do they expect pistols based on rifle platforms (ar-15, ak-47, sig p556, etc.) to be fired with one hand? These weapons are made with a forestock, so can a foregrip be added legally?

NO pistol can not have a VERTICAL foregrip on on it. It does not matter the make or the model of the pistol.

If you want to do the paperwork and pay the tax you can legally turn you pistol into an AOW and add a VFG.
