weren't these guns marked sg on bottom of barrel.thanks

    I am not aware that they were ever marked on the bottom of the barrel.

    I thought it was engraved on the floorplate of the magazine.

    Roger Rule's book states that Super Grade barrels were frequently marked "SUPER" on the underside in the chamber area. I interpret "frequently" to mean "not always".

    EDIT: OK, I had to check! The serial # of my .300 H&H Super Grade dates it to early 1949. The underside of the barrel is marked only: "300M 49".

    Thanks y'all the floor plate is super grade but I've saw a lot of theses guns were in sg wood and had floor plate but did not leave factory as one
