This may be one of the urban legends that are running around, but I have heard at two gun classes, that there is a guy who only sells ammo on the side no advertising, no web site, just a phone number that is passed around friends. Anyone know of it.I'm really just looking for a cheap source of reliable ammo[This message has been edited by jmac238716 (edited 10-28-2001).]

And I heard that when you really need ammo bad, you just shine a light up into the sky with the shadow of a .45ACP cartridge on it....Seriously, sounds like some local somebody in your area. No way for us to know about it. There are jillions of ammunition sellers on the web, all you have to do is search for it. Start with Cheaper Than Dirt

Have tried cheaper than dirt and they are out of Estate cartridges. I'm looking for something with that quality at that price. Cheaper than dirt is out of that brand. For my pistols I use reloaded and can get it locally pretty reasonable for 9mm and 500 rds of 45 for about 60-80 dollars. Can you give me a lead to something cheaper? Thanks

Stay out of the marts and get the best deal from your local gun shop. Kmart and Walmart in my area stopped the sales on all guns and ammo after the Sept 11 tragedies. These places do not promote us gun guys , they just want your money. Support your dealer, you know the guy that takes care of all your gun problems.

Yea, I kinda do that sometimes, just for close friends who don't reload. They buy reloads from me. The reason he doens't advertise is because if you wanna sell ammo, your supposed to buy a $50 liscence from the ATF, and get special insurance that just doens't seem priced to reasonably. And you have to manage everthing as a business which is a pain in the ol sitter. And if your not planning on making a living at it, then you just say that you gave the ammo to your friends for free, and they gave you some money as a gift. Just make sure your friends understand the circumstances and keep everything "on the down low" (keep quit).I'd get some one you know, who knows, them to introduce you. He may be weary of selling to a friend of a friend.
