Too many ads for reloading shotshells, hoping some experienced reloader can point me in the right direction. Interested in 12ga, various loads/purposes. Thanks Is it really cheaper than store bought fodder?

Oracle:I was hoping that someone who loads far more shotgun shells than I do would answers this for you. Since no one else did, then I will give you my take on it.Unless you shoot BUNCHES on shotgun shells at little clay birds or need to reload for some speciality reason (as I do), then you are much better off going to K-mart, Wal-mart, or other such store in your area at the end of season and cutting them a deal. They don't want to carry it over in inventory and will often come to terms with you on several cases. Please note I said cases - they are not going to talk to you about 10 boxes. If you decide to take up reloading shotgun shells, get a copy of the Lyman Shotshell Reloading Handbook and READ it more than once before you begin. Always use exactly the specified components, the specified shot charge, exact powder and charge, and wad seating pressure. DO NOT trying playing it by ear or you will sooner or later pay dearly for it.
