I am not sure what the laws are in your stse on Post Ban or pre ban rifles. It is possable to but a bi pod on the Post ban BullPup. On the pre ban it depends on the barrel length.

Most of the Pre ban BullPups I have seen start at about $1200.00. Mine cost $1400.00

What is the difference between the Pre & Post ban M17-S? I have owned both, the pre-ban I had, the same double lock-nut to tension the barrel, had no bayonet lug, and since it was a bullpup, didn't have a collapsable stock ... as far as I can see, the pre-ban is identical to a post-ban M17-S why would it (a pre 9/13/94) command a higher price than a post (9/13/94) rifle? As far as I remember, its not a named weapon in the BATF regulations as an assult rifle either, therefore, it must be a sporting rifle!

from what I can gather (mind you I was the one who origanaly posted the questions) is that you may put a flash supressor on the pre-ban, bat not the post-ban, I may be wrong, can I put a flash supresor on a post ban? god these laws are confusing!!!!

I suppose you could put a flash hider on a Pre 9/13/94, but Bushmaster STRONGLY reccomends you dont mess with the jam nuts on the barrel, as they are factory set to keep a certian amount of tension to the sleeve/barrel/frame for accuracy ... removing them will also void your warrenty. What I'm hearing is having a Pre 9/13/94 (I dont think you can call them Pre-Ban since the ban didn't apply to them anyway) and installing a non-factory flash hider (a $6 item) makes it Worth More (almost twice the cost of the rifle)... and voids your warranty ... makes no sence to me ... ... by the way, there are several cool looking compensators that would be legal to install on a post ban rifle and at least one that has the same profile as the A-2 hider, but uses a several small round holes instead of slots ... look in the Brownells catalog ... any comp that will fit an AR will aslo fit the M17-S ...The first BushMaster was NOT an bullpup ... it looked like a hy-bird of the Stoner 63 and the AR180 ... an ugly thing, then they came out with the "Arm Pistol" ... another failure ... finally went with the AR-15 design in all its fame & glory ...
