Are the Ruger bolt action wood stocks interchangable with the Ruger bolt action synthetic stocks? Like M77 and K77.

Does anybody know if a ruger 77 mkII wood stock is the same as the ruger 77 hawkeye? Thanks

How do you get the butt pad off a Ruger 77(old style)varmiter composit stock? It has screw holes, but I can't get anything to engage.
