I cannot see well enough beyond 25 yards for accuracy to be an issue. What I want is a .308 rifle that will fire fast and flawlessly. I have had both the CETME and L1A1. Both met these requirements. I liked the L1A1 better with its softer feeling cycling. Both cost about $400 from SOG.

I'v had both but didn't care for the FAL (L1A1) ... true it has a softer recoil ... unless you get one of those buffers (about $18) from "Buffer Technology" ... then the HK (Cetme) is softer ... and the HK style seems to be more comfortable to me ...

I HAVE A CETME RIFLE, THE CENTURY MODEL. IT GROUPS WELL. ACTUALLY MINE IS THE G3..I COULDNT REALLY TELL YOU WHAT IT DOES AT 100 YARDS BECAUSE I DONT HAVE A SCOPE ON IT. BUT ONE THING I WILL SAY, THE BARREL IS GOOD HARD BARREL. THE BARREL STAYS COOL ENOUGH. Recently bought a Cetme and thoroughly enjoy blasting with it. Yes is cycles rather harshly but we are talking .308 here, right. The only thing I do not like is having to charge the reciever in between mags. Another thing, unless you are a dealer you can forget about a $400.00 price tag, it seems many price estimations given on this forum are wholesale prices, I know, I am a dealer.Gun Control is hitting your Target !!
