I bought a 30'06 Win. model 70 Seriel #g2145208 Rifle has hooded front site. Black and white plastic pistol grip cap and fore end. Monte Carlo stock,Jeweled bolt . Also Ranger on right side of barrel.Of course has a metal floor plate.Very fine ,sharp chekering. The typical black 3/8 black "dot" above trigger gaurd. Is this a VALUABLE rifle?? Thanks much...Steve

Your model 70 is definitely not a pre-64 which ended at a serial # a little over 581K. The Ranger was an inexpensive version of the post 64 mod. 70 made from around 1990 to '99. It had an uncheckered hardwood stock, so yours presumably has an aftermarket stock. The Blue Book lists the Ranger's worth at $285 in 98% condition.
