They were a plain jane, get the job done shotgun. They are still relatively inexpensive, reliable and somewhat likely to still find a few nice ones at reasonable prices ($ $180 to $275). They never were a Browning or Fox and never pretended to be. The plus side is relative low price, dependable, a little heavy for recoil, swing.
The negative side was double trigger(some consider this a plus), plain wood, plain finish, heavy and some complained of soft reciever around firing pin and hinge and firing pins breaking. Lots of them were never cared for (barn gun, pickup, ect) so do take your time looking, there are still alot of them that never escaped the closet much and look very good. Just dont't settle for the first 'shooter' that comes along.
