Can anyone give me a little history of the Fajen and Bishop gunstock companies such as approximate beginning & ending dates of their manufacturing of gunstocks? Thanks in advance for any info. Terrill.

Midway bought up some of Fajens' stock and may be able to answer your question.
They may have gone out by the mid '90s . They used to mail newspaper sized catalogs of their $$$ offerings. I had my eye on some fancy wood for a Cadet Martini but decided too late. There were complaints about long delivery.

I have a rifle stocked on one of the last Fajen stocks in 1998. Battenfield bought Fajen, but managed to put it down the tubes before they got it on it's feet. It limped along for a couple of years making one or two military replacement stocks, but I am not sure if that was still Battenfield or someone else after them.

Both Bishop and Reinhart Fajen were active concerns in the late '50's

Fajen bought out Bishop. Midway bought Fajen (which included Bishop). I remember an auction being advertised in the old newspaper "Gun List" of material, tooling, etc. from both gunstock outfits after Midway acquired them. I don't remember the dates.

HeDog: Do you mean Larry Potterfield of Midway? I am not familiar with the name Battenfield re: gunstocks.

Battenfeld Technologies is a holding group for many shooting sports products. Fagen is listed as one of those.

Battenfeld Technologies is owned my Midway. The make the product and sell it, no middle man.
