Summer "pocket pistol" choice?

I have been trying to decide on a pocket pistol in 9mm for summer wear including shorts. Although light weight, the Bersa .380 is larger than I thought it would be and not the right caliber. I looked at Kel Tecs but, considering the trigger, I wanted something I might actually enjoy shooting. I tried a Kahr MK40, right size, right caliber, but it is heavy for shorts. My choice now is narrowed down to the Kahr in polymer (which is pricey), the Beretta PX4 Storm subcompact, and the Walther PPS. Anyone have any opinions on these choices? Thanks in advance.

S&W 360 airlite is great, as long as you use 38 special +p in it

haroldchrismeyer: Thanks for the reply and that is a viable alternative. I have a Ruger SP101 but, due to its weight, it tends to be a bit heavy, if not noticeable, in a pear of lightweight shorts. I will give your suggestion some thought. Not cheap though.

rmill: thanks, I will have to reconsider the Kel Tec. It comes in 2 models in 9mm. The triggers are real heavy and I wonder how realiable this pistol is over time. Thanks.

Second the Kel tec for a lightweight summer gun P.S. I have one and put a couple hundred rounds in it and it functions fine. I don't know how it would hold up over time in range shooting. But for a sometime carry gun that you are not going to put thousands of rounds from. I think it will be fine. The trigger does stink!!!!!!

Lots to consider. Ammo adds weight, so single stack semi-autos and revolvers hold less ammo. Airlite/airweight revolvers are my choice. I believe any rounds are better than no rounds and I found myself liking the simplicity of the small revolver when I am wearing light clothing, meaning I actually carry it. You can always drop a small pouch with extra rounds in the other pocket.

The Keltec PF9 is about the size of your Bersa, but it is lighter. The trigger pull on most Keltecs is better than most D/A revolvers that are sold today.

I'm a small guy and can't conceal much especially in the summer. I carried a Kel Tec .32 for a few years but bought one of there single stack 9mm last year. They both suit my needs but I'm more comfortable with the 9.
It's too late for me, save yourself.

The S&W airweights are much lighter than the SP101 (15oz vs 26oz in 38+P)and when I wear my cargo shorts, not noticable. But then I tend to wear my clothes a little loose.

I vote for the Keltec 3AT as well. I switched to it from a Colt Mustang last summer.

The Keltec is not a "range" gun, but is not bad to shoot. It is ment for super lightweight carry and that is exactly what it does well. I use to take my Colt in and out of my pocket (I pocket carry) a lot as it was a little on the heavy/bulky side to really be comfortable. The only time my Keltec leave my pocket now is when getting used or changing pants.

    Larry -

What is the smallest caliber that YOU can use to kill someone, say from 20 feet ??

    Get that.

+1 on a Kel-tec P3AT. Load it up with some of these and it will be just fine: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=188768

P3AT or the Ruger copy is your choice but you wont enjoy shooting it especially with hotter self defense ammo.
The featherweight, highly concealable, 9mm repeating handgun that you will enjoy shooting doesn't exist.
