Ranger 16ga shotgun takedown (sears & roebuck)

A pard brought me a 16ga sears and roebuck "ranger" bolt action shotgun today. I am supposed to clean it and make it ready for firing. I have managed to get the bolt into the cocked position so it cycles and fires.

However, I have yet to figure out how to release the bolt. Anyone got a clue as to how to remove the bolt[?]

Pull back on trigger while pulling bolt back. Most of the time that is how you remove the bolt from these type of guns.

Most use the "hold trigger back" system of takedown
Some use the "push trigger forward" system
A few use a screw (back it out/remove it) or other mechanicial stop)

I have a 16 gauge jc higgins model 583.8 i have a screw on the right side that has to be removed. Good Luck.

mmmkay, will check when I get home tonight. I tried the pull back on the trigger thing to no avail, that was my first thought as well.
