Taurus model 84 .38 special

Please anyone give any known information. I can get one from a co-worker for $150.00 in 90% shape. Can anyone critique.

    Its a 6 shot double action .38 special revolver with adjustable sights.

    The Taurus revolvers are basically Smith and Wesson knockoffs.

    This particular model has been discontinued.

    Some of the older Taurus revolvers in particular had significant quality control issues with respect to fitting of parts, etc.

    So I'd inspect it carefully before buying, and if possible test fire it, just to make sure it had no issues.

    We have one that has been a fine little revolver. the Bean man offers good advice. For that price I would be interested.
