    During most of W W II the Germans utilized 2 & 3 lower case letter codes to identify manufacturers of their military equipment. It wasn't until after the war that the actual manufacturers names and locations became generally known.

    "gmo" was the code used to identify the firm of Rahm & Kampmann, Leather Goods Manufacturers, located in Kaiserslautern Germany.
