I just purchased a Marlin 1984 takedown rifle, half oct. 24" barrel, half magazine, in 38WCF.
Serial number 128,XXX.
Wondered-
-how many takedown 1894 rifles were made.
-how many in this configuration.
-date of manufacture.
Any help is appreciated.
Al

All the early Marlin rifles. From the 1880's to 1906, were in a single serial number range. My reference dates yours, to 1895.

Re your other questions. Get Brophy's book "Marlin Firearms".

Or start researching on line. Lot of collectors have established forums, on various guns and manufacturers. You might luck out and get your questions answered, without springing for Brophy's very expensive book.

Thank you- I have Brophy's book, and unless I missed it, the details that I need for that model are not in there.
I'm hoping for someone on the Marlin forum page to chime in.
    Thanks- Al
