I just picked up a Belknap .22 single shot bolt action rifle in very good condition. Barrell stamp reads "Model B963 Louisville, Ky U S A" This looks a lot like a Stevens Model 15, but has a walnut stock. Any info would be appreciated.

Made by many different manufactures. Starting in the late 19th Century, all through the 20th.
The retailers that sold them. In many cases didn't even care, which gun manufacturer made them. As long as they could provide them, at the best/cheapest price.
Could be a pantograph walnut copy of like the repaired/puttied up birch whatever original stock. A friend did a fair number of such projects to learn to use his George Hoenig machine. Sadly I never got to use it to make the stock for my Newton offhand rifle.
