Who made Peerless .22 ??
old single shots
Member Posts: 3,594
Today, while gunshop hopping with a friend i came across a nice old .22 rifle. It has a 24" bbl.,walnut fingergroove stock, metal buttplate.5 round magazine, well made heavy duty peep sight, chrome plated trigger and bolt. The only marking on the gun, besides cal. marking,is the word Peerless. The gun is in about 95% overall cond.,and with the asking price of 59.95 i was soon the proud owner. After adjusting the sight i chopped a 1/4" 10 shot hole at 20 yds.off sandbags with rem. high velosity long rifles. It could not be bought now for 200.My question is--Who made this rifle. The stock looks very similar to a Rem. mdl. 34,but it is not a single shot. The rear of the bolt and safety is also different. It looks like a 1930's era gun.Can anyone tell me what i have????Thanks. .22 L.R.R.F., 5 SHOT CLIP, PEEP SIGHTS...MADE BY Stevens...and called the Peerless...
The Model 066 Buckhorn was a Tube Feed Magazine
and the Model 53, was a Single shot 'Takedown'..
Value wise...all 3 are virtually same in Dollars and cents...$75.00 to $100.00 in Very Good Condition.....
