looking at a pistol that comes with this scope and was wondering the value of the aimpoint 1000 silver finish scope in excellent cond? trying too figure what is a good price for the pistol and scope.thanks don

good for target shooting, and short range hunting.
Parallex free.
Vertical split rings came with the sight, in undamaged condition would retail for $75-$100 max.

Aimpoint 1000 was a good sight.
Battery compartment & battery cost were only real issues.
Simply resolved if you do the following.
Compartment is sealed. All batteries gas, and fumes create corrosion.
> Clean compartment & contacts with cotton swabs. Look for a clear crystaline coating on the contacts. That's normal, but clean it off.
> Clean batteries before installing.
> Keep fingers from touching the tops & bottoms.
> Between range times, or long storage...loosen the battery compartment cap so air can get in. Clean them occasionally.
Because shooters didn't take care of the battery-batteries...they, themselves caused need to replace batteries
Compare the 1000 to a Rem 700 in 30-06 vs Accu Mark in Weatherby 30-378 Mag.
Old reliabe design & technology. Not high super high performance by today's standards, but it works, holds up, and the weakest link is us..the human shooter.
Should serve you well, especially as an entry level till your ready for more.
