will a Win. 1500 barrel fit on a Win. 1400?

In a previous post I was told that a Win 1500 barrel will fit on a Win 1400 with no problems. Is this true Id hate to order one and have it not fit. Pabooger

    O.K. ,we have done this before , the auto (barrels) all will interchange in this series , the auto barrels will fit and work on the pump models (1200 ect.) but the pump barrels will not work on the autos (no gas port hole drilled) & this job is a major mess to do !!!
    must be same gauge of course....if needed , several places in the "gun
    lists" have them......Good Luck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
