Model 65 Winchester - 218 Bee

I recently purchased this firearm. It is either in mint condition or it has been refinished. One knowledgeable person says refinished the other not...go figure but both agree that if it is a refinish it was done by a knowledgeable person as the fit and the colour are right. It has the bolt peep and has special order wood, according again to a local collector. I am not a Winchester fan and am certainly not a fan of lever actions so it will be for sale or trade. I would like an opinion (s) about value. Blueing is 100% and except for two small scratches the wood is also near 100% Bore is shiny as new. As I will either sell or trade for something I would like I need to know a value. Thanks for your interest. Dantforth

The Model 65 was sort of a "souped-up" model 53 with increased magazine capacity, forged ramp for the front site, and much better trigger pull. Less than 6000 of them were built. The .218 bee is the one in most demand now days. Lets make the assumption that it is in fact a really high quality reblue. Then I think that you are looking at a $1000-1200 gun. If she has NOT been reblued, then I think you are looking at $1800 - 2300.
I could be WRONG
it won't be the first time.
