Did Winchester ever put the Rifle style crescent buttplates on any of the early carbines?

I've seen a couple 25-35's carbines recently with the Crescent style buttplate.

Just wondering if they could have been original.
thanks

forgot to mention I'm asking about the 94 model.

Yes, some '94 carbines had the rifle style buttplate. The only way you'll know for certain is if they are under SN 353999 and you can get a factory letter.

There were (606) Carbines made with a Rifle (crescent) butt plate in the first 353,999 Model 1894s made.

Of the first 353,999 Model 1894s, 75,075 were Carbines... the calculated percentage of Carbines with a rifle butt is .008% (or 8 out of every 1000).

The chances are very good that if you saw two of them recently, at least one of the two of them was a fake.
