What is a better Garand--the Service or the Danish grade?

    its up to you which you perfer, the service grade rifles have all US parts and cost $500 from the CMP. the danish issue rifles are $400 and were loaned to Dutch forces during the war, they have some foreign parts in them. both service grade and danish issue have in many cases been re-built or rebarreled, and general "wear" of the rilfe varies regardless of which one you choose. they are both worth thier price and then some.[This message has been edited by jdb123 (edited 02-24-2002).]

    If you're a collector, then I'd get the USGI model (one of each would be better!). If you just want a shooter, get the danish model and promise to yourself to get a GI one next.
