Can the blackpowder pellets be used in a conventional muzzleloader or are they designed for in lines only? I was looking for an inexpensive muzzleloader to hunt deer but liked the idea of using the pellets instead of loose powder.

the way i understand it the pellets where made for the inlines , to be ignited from the end of the pellet, thats why the pryrodex pellets have a hole in them ,, not from the side like they would from a cap lock, I'm not saying that they can't be used but it sounds like you would be better off with loose powder

My partner uses pyrodex pellets in his TC Hawken. We replaced the nipple with a musket nipple and it seems to fire just fine.
