Ghost loading shotgun

Is there any adverse effect of ghost loading a shotgun? To me it seems that may put undue pressure on the fire control group.

do it all the time to my benelli to gain an extra rd. . never a single problem. todays guns are so well made, they can take a lot of abuse. nothing to worry about.

I think that's what I call "topping off the magazine".

You guys are watching too many zombie movies.

The only real danger is that, with certain shotguns & certain loads, you might bind up the shells in the magazine to the point that it won't feed.

Beside the shotgun NOT being designed/engineered for that? nmyers pretty much covered the reason NOT to.

As I understand it, it is possible to manipulate the action of "certain guns" so that you can have the chamber loaded, the magazine loaded, and an extra shell on the lifter for the maximum firepower before you have to go through the ritual of reloading a tube magazine.

Best to find out first if you have one of those "certain guns" that will accommodate the practice or if you have one of Neal's "certain guns" that won't.

Thanks, but why would you follow the instruction of a guy with a ring on his middle finger?
