There is a company that puts full page advertisements in the NRA's magazine, called "America Remembers". They and similar companies, have created a business making limited production, special order guns. If they think they can make money, on guns with special markings, serial numbers, plating, decorations etc. They will have the gun companies make them. And sell them for big bucks. Way over the standard MSRP for the standard model of the same gun.

These guns aren't classified the same as the commemoratives, that Colt, Winchester etc. cataloged years ago. Quite likely they will be difficult to sell for the inflated prices they originally sold for.

Lew Horton & other distributors ordered many special edition guns, & it could be one of those. Or, it could have been an individual special order; you used to be able to order a custom serial number, at extra cost.

Too bad you didn't think to look at the box end label; that probably would have helped us to figure out what it is.
