I have seen advertised that you can use stripper clips to load AK mags using some special adapter. Has anyone used this? Does it work well?

There is a steel funnel type adaptor with a star embossed in the side that was made in China. One end is a socket that fits over the mag and the other end takes the 7.62x39 ten round stripper clip. It's a little rough in operation but works. Kengs used to sell them for $3.50. Cheaper Than Dirt may have them now.

Last gun show, there were several vendors selling for $5. I was tempted to by one, but come the end of the day I didn't have $5 left. If anyone has one, and are worth the $$, let us know.

Strippers are great, especially if you want to carry alot of ammo, you can fit it in smaller space than a bunch of loaded magazines. Also good if you don't have a bunch of magazines. You could get a bandoleer of SKS ammo, and when your magazines went empty, pull out the tool, and have them loaded up and ready to go in a minute. They do this in the military, unlike movies tend to portray, they usually put their empty magazines in their pocket so they can reload them later. If it was me, I'd put my first main, most relaible, magazine on a lanyard line, that way if I panic and drop a magazine forgetting it on the ground and run out of magazines, I'd still have one left that I could reload.
