Loose slide Sigs

I have two Sig 226's (a 9mm & a 357) the slide on the 9mm rattles a little. It is an old police gun, and I just chalked it up to being well used. I have never shot it for accuracy, so I don't know how it shoots. This last weekend I saw a LNIB Sig 239 at a local show, and the slide was very loose. The gun was a good deal, but I didn't want to buy it with the loose slide. Can anyone tell me if they have similiar problems. How much will it effect the accuracy?
Thanks
Jess

It has to be a little loose to guarantee function.

SIGs are very accurate. Don't worry so much about slide-to-frame fit. Check to see how tight the barrel is in the slide when it is ready to fire.
