Boito o/u 12g misfire

I was wondering if anyone may have a suggestion about my shotgun misfiring? It is the bottom, first trigger, that leaves a little dent on the primer. I can break open and fire again and it works most of the time. Is there a fix? Thanks.... Sean D.

Same with mine. You need to clean the fireing pin.

I tried that. It seems to move freely. The other problem is that once fired, I have to break open over my knee to get it to open.

Have it fixed before you end up cracking the stock.
Take the stock off using a long screwdriver and see what's going on.
The lower firing pin isnt being retracted before the action is forced open and the lower hammer or striker spring sounds weak.
I wouldn't risk cracking the stock by using the lower barrel until the gun is repaired.

I have had the stock off and looked at all the parts and the one thing I noticed is all look hand made. Meaning, they dont look like a machine made them. All are real rough looking. The hammer springs do apply a lot of force on firing pins and the pins are the cause of making the gun break open hard. I figure things just need to be re-worked in there, I just dont know if it is worth it....

O.K. , if a good cleaning and oiling will not fix the issue , then you have a 'gunsmith project' , good luck , we hate working on these things , and parts are almost not available , and not much value to begain with...Kmart 1970's special ??? and by the way .....
Boito is Swahele for TURD !!!!!
    Good Luck !!!

See if the hammer/striker retracting lever has any fore and aft play before it starts to cock the hammers. You want to take that out so the hammers start to retract asap and you're not fighting it by opening the gun before the firing pins are retracted from the primer indents.
    Happy times.

Thanks for the info... I figured it to be a less desirable gun and I think I have an idea to fix this issue. Gonna have the hammers re-worked to be able to engage the release lever so that when the lever is moved to break open gun, the hammers will all ready be out of the way.... thanks again to all who responded
