I shot 'em (several weights) for awhile in my 44mag Desert Eagle, hoping to avoid the lead build-up problem that causes just about everybody to recommend NOT shooting cast bullets in these weapons. After seeing how much metal build-up I got around the gas piston & gas chamber / frame end face I stopped, for fear of having the same deposition continuing in the part I can't reach, the gas passage from the cartridge chamber to the gas piston cylinder. Leading of the bore & rifling didn't seem too bad but it did occur some; I've never shot plain lead cast bullets in this gun. As far as a Glock: I've heard some warnings about non-traditional rifling being prone to cause much faster fouling build-up with non-jacketed bullets. The DE is one of these, as is the Glocks and Heckler-Koch firearms. If it were my gun and my safety, I'd avoid using cast bullets in any semi other than a 1911-style 45ACP. I'm sure others will provide their comments.

I have shot about 3,000 rounds of Laser Cast 230 Gr RN's through my Glock 21 and about 2,000 through my USP Compact. Additionally I have shot about 3,500-4,500 through my 1911A1. No leading at all, no problems with the barrels or anything else for that matter.

I've shot about 1500 of these bullets thru my HK USP compact 45. About the same number thru my Kimber, some thru my Sig and Colts. No leading problem in any of these guns. These are a great bullet, very hard and consistent. I run Laser Cast 300 gr. bullets thru my FA 454 at 1455 fps and no leading in it either after about 600 rounds.

We use these for the IDPA organization I belong to. They award you with equipment based on the number of rounds you buy. I have a P7-M10 I wanted to try, but asked first.

They advised me that even though the bullets are harder, you would experience some leading plus the lube on the bullets would foul up the gas chamber. I guess this would apply to Desert Eagles also.
