Without any doubt, go with the Cetme. If it is an HK contract it will be of higher quality than ANY AK47 and the .308 is far superior to the 7.62X39

I got one of those $300 CETME's from aimsurplus. I sent them a letter asking them to pick out a nice one suitable for a police trunk gun. And they did so. I love mine to death. I can't shoot it enough. The rear sight is pretty simple to operate and has a great sight picture. Its easy to strip down and clean, a very simple recoil operated roller mechanism similar to the MP5. And I broke it in with about 200rds of ammo, and haven't had any malfunctions since. Its definately suitable for a duty rifle, and I'm very pleased. I bought a hi-low tactical sling from Blackhawk for an AR-15, and it works great on it. Bought a package of magazines from TAPCO, and some other accesories. I'm going to have some trigger work done to it in a few weeks after I catch up on some bills. But all in all I feel like I got a $1000 rifle for $300. If you already have an AK, I wouldn't pass up the opertunity to purchase one of these CETME's at this low price.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.
