Sako 6mm PPC vs. Custom Benchrest

Does any one have a Sako in 6mm PPC?. I have been toying with the idea for a few years now on buying a Bench Gun. Here is my dilemma.
Every month, I read my Precision Shooting Magazine and in the back, it lists all of the actions, barrels, gunsmiths, bullets, Etc. That all the top guys are using. I know that the big dogs would not look at a factory (complete) rifle for competition.
Can the Sako in 6 PPC shoot that tight? Or is it just a good beginner bench gun like My Rem. 40X?. I am not looking to compete, on a national level (Don't got the bucks or the time). Here is the real kicker, myself as a precision welder. I know a ton of CNC machinists & tool and die makers. None of them shoot.
Thanks in Advance for your help in my own little problem.
P.S. I told my wife it's R&D (for the right price) heeeeeeeeeeeeee

I doubt it will shoot with the 40x. Now that is considering both are chambered close to the same in caliber.
A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.
