AMT 45

OK, Guys.. Lets see what you can do. I have a AMT Backup, .45 The trigger pull is BAD!!! Maybe 30# I like the gun, but what can I do to get the pull down??? I have looked for spring kits, but cant find them.... HELP!!!!!!!!!!

    A good gun smith can fix you up I think lone wolfe has the parts.Nice gun by the way.But you might take the advice posted below sounds like hes been there.

    The trigger pull on these are bad by nature. I have worked on a couple and have been unable to achieve satisfactory results. If the spring controlling the trigger pull is reduced to the point where a good pull is achieved the pistol becomes unreliable. In the end I had to reinstall the original springs. This has also been the consensus of opinion from others on this forum in the past; so if someones says, "I can do it" send it to them--but be skeptical until you see the results! The pistol was designed as a back up weapon to be fired at close range, and is not a target pistol. The springs must be unusually strong to fire the pistol reliably. Pulling the trigger compresses the spring that fires the pistol, but gives a hard trigger pull. Catch 22.

    contact TRAPPER GUN INC, 586 776 7581, makes spring kits for all types of handguns, if he doesn't have yours,probably can make what you need.

    I had the same question. The answer I got from locals is, as this is a back up, you'll have a tendicy to carry with one in the pipe (not recommended). The long pull and the heavy weight of the pull is a safety measure against accidentel misfires.
