Question about Ithaca skb 900 XL

I was given a Ithaca 900 XL 20 ga as a gift. It looks in great shape, hardly ever shot. What I'm wondering is can I shoot steel or any other non toxic shot so I can hunt Waterfowl with it? It's a fixed modified choke. Thanks for any help!!

With a fixed modified choke, its no problem to shoot steel shot.

i dont think that model gun has a chrome lined bore. if its not chrome lined, youre gonna scratch it.

What about some other non toxic shots like Bismuth? Plus, is that the only downside? I'm talking a few shots a year and using lead for the rest of the year.

Stay with some of the better loadings like Hevi-Shot or the Bismuth loads and for a few shots yearly you will not have any difficulties!
