Walther PP Question

This Walther has a few odd marks on it....the birds are not the typical birds on these. I have also found a little number 8c on the very back of the gun. I would appreciate any info you guys could give on this gun. Thank you VERY much.

I have an older Walthers PP is 32 ACP. It is a WWII Nazi Officer's gun. The question I have is on the top inside of the slide there is a dent about 1/3 of the way from the back. I think the dent is the result of the hammer hitting the spot as the slide is recoiling to the rear. Is this normal? It doesn't seem to hurt the function of the gun. It works fine.

I've never seen or heard of what you describe. I have shot PP's quite a bit. Perhaps someone at http://www.p38forum.com/ in the World War II PP forum might know. More information on markings and pictures would be a help.

It's normal. Most all PP's have it.
