My first shotgun was a 600, and I used the 28" Poly-Choke barrel for a few 3-Gun matches before I got a shorter, cylinder-bore barrel. Just dial the choke to Open and the slugs will whistle through. On the plus side, if you're up for some punishing bench sessions, you can experiment with different choke settings to see which shoots your slugs the best. I'd advise staying away from Full choke.
I also found the longer sight radius, if you can call it that on a shotgun with a front bead and no rear sight, of the 28" barrel made hitting with slugs easier out at 50+ yards.
