hi, thanks in advance for any help. i just bought a mossberg 590(i think) for resale. i haven't been able to find any exact matches to help determine a value, there seems to be many versions of this gun. this model has a laser(aimpoint?) built right into the forearm. this is what i cant find anywhere. any ideas? it came with pistol grip and full butt stock. heat shield etc. also, the laser doesn't seem to work, can i change the batteries? if so, how? thanks again, jag

    Good Day Forum,
I have a Mossberg 590 'crowd pleaser' and was wondering if I can put a longer hunting barrel on the receiver for turkeys, etc. I know that you can change tubes on the 500 series but wasn't sure about the 590.
    Any thoughts on this???
    Thanks to all replies.

Reciever lockup is the same as the 500, but the mag tube meet-up point is different.

You could unscrew the 590 mag tube and remove the spring and attach a 500 mag tube, spring, and barrel to make the switch....

Thanks iwanna... Looked into parts at Brownells. I'll just buy another 12 ga. for hunting considering parts versus whole gun price comparison.
    Thanks Again.

I had my 590 barrel modified to accept Accu-choke tubes. The short barrel will kill everything that the long one will.
