ok. just bought a 1911 that came with 2 boxes of ammo. before I shoot these up, just want to make sure they aren't worth more than new factory stuff. one says MATCH 1974 ball m 1911 230 grains velocity 820 olin corporation. box is white. the other is remington kleanbore. top of box is green with "remington' and "dupont" in red and the sides are red and green. thanks for any help. also, if ya don't mind me asking, I think I got a deal. it is a colt govt IV ser. 70 in brushed nickel. like new pd 650, good price? thanks again!

With out a pict it is hard to tell the actual price of the gun much less the ammo. If you were to get picts the guys on here that are far more skilled than I can tell you what you got and the value.

If it were me I would go buy some ammo if you want to shoot. As for the 1911, I would say that you got a pretty good deal, but compair your 1911 to those on the auction to give you a better idea. You can do so with the ammo as well.

The series 70 is one of the best 1911 type pistols ever made . I have shot Thousands of rounds of the Match ammo like one box you have through one of mine. HARD-BALL GUN I don't think you can go wrong at that price.
