Garand bullet guide (reassembly)

Is reattaching the bullet guide to the receiver on a garand supposed to be difficult?

I've been trying to put the damn thing back on for half an hour.......The video I've been watching shows it just snapping back into place.

Mine's a very tight fit 'tween the bottom of the receiver legs (at the top when assembling, looking at the bottom of the receiver) and has to be worried in. Same thing on another one I owned years ago.

BTW, did you know it's not really a "bullet guide"?

Unless you have a CAI Garand, in which case a mallet is required for assembly.

Not s'posed to be tough, as posted previous, what's the make of the rifle. SA rifles should go together easily.
