1911A1 frame question.

My wife wants me to build her a 1911A1 Commander in 9mm(9X19).
My question is can you use a regular 1911A1 frame or do you have to get one that is made for 9mm?

Standard frame should be fine.

They illustrate the different frames, the .45 ramp looks normal, the 9mm ramp is very shallow and looks like it would need a good deal of work.

I have seen .45 guns converted to 9mm or .38 successfully, and heard of some that didn't.

You can use a standard frame with a 9mm ejector. Just get very good 9mm mags, they have a feed ramp built in.
