I have heard that 357 cases can be adapted to shoot in the 310 cadet. Anyone have info on this?

You can use 32/20 cases. trim to length and the rim has to be turned down(made thinner)

the .310 martini uses a 'heeled' bullet (like a .22 l.r.) of about .318" and a case very similar to .32/20. some rifles will shoot .32/20's as is but accuracy usualy isn't very good (.32/20 bullet dia. is about .312"). a lot of them have been rebored to .357 mag. or rechambered to .32 spechial or .32/40.

The other Martini thread has a post which mentions a wildcat .357 necked down to .32, using 8mm bullets to fit the .310 barrel. Less expense than a new barrel or rebore but you have to form cases and load an odd caliber.

Mike's right, had one years ago rechambered for 32-20, accuracy was terrible. The only viable U.S. cartridge that would function with the original barrel would be the 32 Winchester Special, but firing it from the light weight Cadet Carbine, would be ugly to say the least.

I don't really see any inexpensive way to fire it, considering the costs of reloading components and dies nowadays. If it's still in factory original condition other then being rechambered to 32-20, you might consider selling it to a military rifle collector or some guy looking for a small Martini carbine action. They have gone up in price substantially over the years. Recently I ran across a guy trying to sell one at a show for the giveaway price of $700, for some reason he didn't have any takers.

Buy either new 310 brass. Or you can fireform 32-20 brass with inert filler after you turn the rim thinner (do not turn the bottom of the case as that will cause primer seating problems), then trim to 1.12 and deburr. Be sure to slug the barrel for correct bullet diameter as bores vary widely.
