suppressor cleaning

I saw some pictures showing a 22 LR suppressor that had fired 1000+ rounds, it was just totally dirty. Looked like it was half full of stuff. Even with scrubbing they couldn't get it completely clean. Finally they bead blasted it, that got it clean. Since some 22 LR suppressors cannot be disassembled how does one clean them? Maybe the answer is you don't.

I used to shoot with a High Standard muzzle brake installed they even made a cleaning tool to use then I was told White vinegar and something else maybe water soaked over night would dissolve the build up Maybe Bobski will remember what we used .

Hey PerryShooter, it is white vigegar and ammonia. I have used it in extreme cases to clean out lead from handguns and .22 rims. I have used it as well to get to a totally clean barrell on a new to me rifle to try to get the best out of it.

I don't clean mine very often. I usually just put a little CLP in and then roll it around every once in a while. I then blow it out with a little air. I probably have close to 5k through mine. The guns that I use the suppressor on get very dirty very fast.

Most suppressors only need to be cleaned as often as the silencer muffler on your car as they do about the same thing.
