egunparts (or Numerich) is about the easiest to use as they have online IPB's. They are somewhat higher than others too. What parts are you missing?

Okay, you only need the bolt parts. Those are easy but kinda expensive as lots of people need them. Make sure you know if it is a Type 38. The bolt parts between a 38 and 99 ARE NOT INTERCHANGABLE. The 38 is a 6.5mm bore, the 99, a 7.7mm bore. Two of the three symbols on the breech of the 99 with be the same. Hope this helps.

http://surplusrifle.com has a picture progression on how to put the bolt together and another on the rifle in gereral. I got junk parts from Numrich for the 38 I have, good luck putting your rifle back together. I hope your dad dose not give the rifle back to your brother.

I just restored a type 38... Pacific Rim Restorations has a lot of parts for all the Jap rifles... Go to this website:

Graf & Sons has the right ammo if you get that far... [:D]
    Good luck!
